about Papillon & lou thompson

Lou Thompson In 1989, Papillon began as a learning center for school-aged children and adults seeking business skills. It was located in Cloverdale, provided part-time employment for four teachers and one retail clerk over a period of 9 years. Approximately 300 students were supported during those years. A retail component was added in 1995 which was modeled after the then-popular Nature Company. As owner and operator, Lou learned from the ground up how to be a successful entrepreneur.

The learning center was closed in 1998 so that Lou could begin the 9-year commute to San Francisco to work as the COO/CFO for the American Legion Auxiliary state office. Papillon continued during those years as a web-based business solutions company assisting other small business' and non-profits with day-to-day desktop publishing, project management, and web-design/maintenance. Building her first website for the California ALA in 1998, she was self-taught and continues to build and maintain small sites for others.

Papillon followed Lou into semi-retirement and now allows her to freelance. Her resume represents her working for others and for herself.
